Approximately 3 800 clothing workers in Newcastle have down tools since Monday 08 October 2012. These workers are from 35 companies and earn between R250-R400 per week. Workers are on strike demanding a R45 increase.
The Southern African Clothing and Textile Workers’ Union (SACTWU) will continue the fight for a decent wage.
