Approximately 600 striking SACTWU textile members will take to the streets tomorrow to highlight  their living wage demand. We are demanding 10% but employers represented by the South African Cotton & Textile Processing Employers ‘ Association (SACTPEA) are offering 7.5% total package.

The details of the protest is as follows:

Date:   Tuesday  12 August 2014

Time:    11 am

City: Cape Town, Durbanville

Route: Workers will gather in Minnie Road and march into Edward street, a memorandum will then be handed over at 120 Edward street to a representative of SACTPEA, at approximately 12h30.
