SACTWU mourns the passing of SAMWU General Secretary
The COSATU-affiliated Southern African Clothing & Textile Workers’ Union (SACTWU) mourns the passing of the General Secretary of the South African Municipal Workers Union (SAMWU), Koena Ramatlou, earlier today.
We regard this is a great loss to public sector workers, in particular at local government level, whom he was determined to serve well.
His many years of hard work in the labour movement is testiment of his unwavering commitment to workers in general, and will never be forgotten.
We extend our sincere condolences to SAMWU members, to his immediate and extended family, and to all in our federation COSATU.
